Envirothon

For the third consecutive year St. John's Academy in Mitchell County won the Kansas Envirothon and represented Kansas at the International Competition.

Envirothon and Range Youth Camp are two unique opportunities for Kansas high school students

Students from St. John’s Catholic School in Beloit represented Kansas at the 2025 International Envirothon in Calgary, placing 24th out of 51 teams. The trip was supported by the Mitchell County Conservation District, Kansas Envirothon Committee, and local donors.

For the second time St. John's Catholic School from Beloit, Mitchell County won the Kansas Envirothon competition.  The St John's team will travel to Calgary, Alberta Canada's Mount Royal University in July to participate in the National Conservation Foundation Envirothon. "The Envirothon Program started in Kansas in 1992 and is a hands-on environmental problem-solving contest for high school students focusing on seven natural resource areas." 

Kansas Envirothon participants have demonstrated remarkable dedication at regional competitions, showcasing their hard work and readiness for the upcoming state event. Although the regional competitions serve as crucial practice rounds rather than qualifiers, they provide essential preparation for the demanding state competition, where winners earn the honor to represent Kansas at the International Envirothon.

St. John's Catholic School in Beloit won the 2024 Kansas Envirothon competition and will be representing Kansas at the National Conservation Foundation Envirothon in Geneva, New York
