Rainfall Simulator

Kansas Association of Conservation Districts owns several tabletop rainfall simulators and rainfall siumlator trailers.  Both models of rainfall simulators mimic an extreme rainfall event by producing around 1-inch of rain onto multiple soil samples with various amounts of ground cover, often showing no till, conventional tillage and grassland.

The rainfall simulator is an effective tools for encouraging the adoption of soil health improving practices. The rainfall simulator is effective in providing education on the impact of the water cycle as well as prompting the adoption of conservation practices and monitoring techniques.
