Student Scholarship Opportunities

Caroline and Don Peterson Memorial Scholarship provides up to $1,000 for the fall semester for a full time college junior or senior student majoring in Agronomy/Range Management, or closely related field. Applications due by March 15 of each year.  The 2023 Caroline and Don Peterson Memorial Scholarship recipients are: 

Quinn Girard, Cloud County; attending Ft. Hays State University

 Macy Odle, Rooks County; attending Kansas State University

Jacob Bell, Stevens County; attending Oklahoma Panhandle State University


General Memorial Scholarship provides up to $1,000 for the fall semester for a full time college Junior or Senior Student majoring in a Natural Resource related field.  Applications due March 15 of each year. The 2023 general memorial scholarship recipients are: 

Kristen Floyd , Kingman County; attending Ft. Hays State University

 Rachel Sebesta, Ellsworth County; attending Kansas State University 

Kaitlyn Seiwert, Kingman County; attending Kansas State University 

Range Youth Camp
Held each July at Camp Mennoscah in Murdock, KS (Kingman County) for high school students entering their sophomore, junior or senior year who are interested in plants, livestock or wildlife. This is a educational event like no other in Kansas! Students will learn range plant identification, plant growth, stocking rates, livestock nutrition, rangeland wildlife management and much more. Scholarships for Range Youth Camp are available through many county conservation district! Visit KGLC for more information.
